About Help for Home
Help for Home is a Sydney-based referral service. We connect homeowners and businesses with licensed, insured specialists for major planned jobs, the ones too big to leave to a handyman or find by chance in a directory. We don't carry out the work ourselves; a specialist from our panel does.
Why we started
Getting quotes for a major home job usually means one of two bad options: a directory that sells your details to five call centres at once, or hours spent vetting tradespeople yourself before you even know if the price is fair. We built Help for Home to do the vetting up front and pass your job to one specialist, not five.
We're a new service, built specifically for Sydney's major planned home and commercial jobs (underpinning, demolition, asbestos removal, water damage restoration and more), rather than the day-to-day handyman work most directories are built around.
How we vet every specialist
Not a badge on a website. Every specialist on our panel goes through the same checks before they can take a job.
- Licence checked against the NSW Fair Trading public register
- Current public liability insurance certificate sighted before joining
- Insurance expiry tracked, and re-checked before it lapses
- Removed from the panel after a lapsed licence, lapsed insurance, or an unresolved complaint
